Cut It Up Challenge "Pinterest Inspired"

***for the Cardz TV stamps "Luck of the Irish" challenge please go HERE***

Welcome to  the lucky #13 challenge for Cut It Up Challenges.  This time the challenge is: "Pinterest Inspired"----Create a paper project that was inspired by something you saw on pinterest. If you do not have a Pinterest, feel free to get inspiration from a fellow crafter. Very Important, give credit to the original source in your blog post!! A link to their project is fine. Must use a die cut.

I am sure I am not alone when I say I love Pinterest - it is so much easier than trying to bookmark all of the great ideas I want to remember.  My project was inspired by this Pinterest post.

I made this card a bit more simple than I often do with no layering, textures or inking.  I created the circle template in my silhouette studio software and cut out the hearts with a heart punch.  My patterned paper is Doodlebug and my sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps.  I created a slit at the top of my card to thread my twine through and tied a simple bow.  Now it is your turn - peruse through your multitude of "pins" and find a project to inspire you and then post it over at the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.

1st 3 Girl Jam DT post

Today I am sharing with you my first project ever made for the 3 Girl Jam design team.  I needed a birthday card for one of my daughter's to give to her friends this weekend so that is what inspired me.  My cut is actually a doodlebat called Kalocsai Flowers.  I used the letter "R" for my cut.  I added a shadow to it using my silhouette software.  The sentiment is an older Scrappy Moms stamp set - I am not sure if they even sell it anymore, ir is that old.  I used the Aqua Splash crinkle ribbon from the 3 Girl Jam Caribbean Splash set along with a button from their Vintage Buttons collections.   I attached my button to my bow using some twine.  I also used a Fiskars punch for my border strip.   My patterned paper is from a set found in the $1 section of the scrapbooking aisle at Target.

I am so happy to be joining the creative team for 3 Girl Jam - their crinkle ribbon is absolutely gorgeous and will coordinate well with all of your projects.

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons DT post

Welcome back to another design team post for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  I am excited to share my project with you as it is something I have been wanting to make for awhile now and finally took the time to do it.  I used the Hot Cocoa cutting files and a variety of colors of vinyl to make tile coasters.  The 4x4 tiles were some leftovers hanging around in our garage.  I painted the edges of my tiles so that they would have a more finished look.  I sealed my tiles with a clear spray paint but to be honest I think it would be better to use an actual acrylic sealer as some of the edges of my vinyl lifted after I sprayed them.  To keep my coasters from scratching furniture, I cut up some self-adhesive felt and adhered to the underside of the tiles.  Overall I am quite satisfied with the outcome.  I love this cute hot cocoa cup and thought it made a great image to use on these tiles.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's projects at the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) blog.  While you are there make sure to sign up for the newsletter so that you can keep up to date on any sales, freebie files and new releases.

Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend and that this crazy weather didn't affect you too much.   Here in Oregon, we have had our typical gray weather with little rain, thankfully.  Our weekend was full - I threw a Valentines Party for my youngest daughter and 7 of her friends.  There was also a dance team showcase, basketball game, dance audition, birthday party and Swan Lake with my older two daughters.  Never a dull moment here :-)  Back to the birthday party - I made a card for the birthday girl that I wanted to share with you today.

I used Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) "Birthday Panda Cutting Files" for the candles and PPPR "Layered Labels 1" for the background shape.  All of my paper is from Echo Park's 6x6 "This and That Graceful" pad.  The ribbon, button, twine and gems were in my stash and the sentiment is from an old Scrappy Moms set.
